Add a form to a Wix site

Use an HTML iframe element for the zero-code route, or Velo’s wix-fetch to submit from a native Wix form with the Public Key server-side.

How it works

Wix in three steps.

  1. 1

    Create a form and copy its Public Key

    Sign up and copy the Public Key from the form’s settings page.

  2. 2

    Add an HTML element

    In the Wix editor, add an HTML iframe element and paste the form markup. The iframe posts to the endpoint directly.

  3. 3

    Or submit through Velo

    With Velo enabled, a fetch in an event handler or HTTP function relays the submission with the Public Key stored in server-side configuration.

The code

Copy this into Wix.

Swap in your form’s key and submissions start landing in your inbox.

Velo
import { fetch } from "wix-fetch";
import { getSecret } from "wix-secrets-backend";

export async function submitForm(answers) {
  const { formPublicKey } = await getSecret("SurveyOwlPublicKey");

  return fetch("https://api.surveyowl.co/v1/submit/" + encodeURIComponent(formPublicKey), {
    method: "POST",
    headers: {
      "Content-Type": "application/json",
    },
    body: JSON.stringify(answers),
  });
}
Great for

What people build with it.

Contact forms on Wix sites without upgrading form storage.

Velo-enabled sites that want the Public Key kept server-side.

Wix forms that should also feed Sheets, Notion or a webhook.

FAQ

Wix forms, answered.

1. Create a form and copy its Public Key: Sign up and copy the Public Key from the form’s settings page. 2. Add an HTML element: In the Wix editor, add an HTML iframe element and paste the form markup. The iframe posts to the endpoint directly. 3. Or submit through Velo: With Velo enabled, a fetch in an event handler or HTTP function relays the submission with the Public Key stored in server-side configuration.

Wix gives you two doors. The HTML element embeds the form as-is: fastest path, no code beyond the embed. If the site uses Velo, an httpFunction or onFormSubmit hook posts to the endpoint from Wix’s server side, where the Public Key never reaches the browser.

The iframe route is isolated from the page’s styles, so give the form its own inline CSS; the Velo route runs in your site’s Wix scope, keeps the Public Key in Secrets Manager, and can be wired to native Wix form events.
